HANOI, VIETNAM — 22 January 2025 — V-GREEN, the green energy arm established by VinFast founder Pham Nhat Vuong, has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taiwan-based green tech firm eTreego to accelerate the rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Southeast Asia. The initiative targets the development of 100,000 charging portals in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam—three core markets for VinFast’s international expansion.
As outlined in the MoU, the two companies will collaborate to install and operate these franchised charging portals by 2030. The rollout will begin with the deployment of 200 pilot charging stations in Vietnam during the second quarter of 2025. This will set the stage for wider expansion across VinFast’s overseas markets in Indonesia and the Philippines.
Under the agreement, eTreego will serve as the main supplier of charging station products for V-GREEN. In addition to hardware provisioning, eTreego has committed to leasing suitable locations and connecting V-GREEN to local partners to support the buildout of a comprehensive charging network.
Beyond infrastructure, the collaboration will also explore avenues for broader green initiatives. These include the development of a Carbon Credit Certification framework tailored to V-GREEN’s operations, as well as future joint efforts to strengthen VinFast’s supply chain and penetrate new markets in the global green transport arena.
The partnership is a pivotal move for V-GREEN as it seeks to cement its presence as a key player in sustainable mobility. With eTreego’s track record in renewable energy solutions, the alliance positions both companies to capitalise on the rapidly expanding EV sector in Southeast Asia.
Indonesia and the Philippines have been identified as top priorities for V-GREEN’s regional push. In a related milestone, V-GREEN recently signed an MoU with Prime Group to install approximately 100,000 EV charging stations in Indonesia over the next three years, backed by a projected investment of up to USD 1.2 billion.
The expansion of V-GREEN’s charging infrastructure forms the backbone of VinFast’s wider EV ecosystem in the region. In both Indonesia and the Philippines, VinFast has introduced a diverse lineup of modern electric vehicles and implemented pioneering sales and after-sales policies. With an expanding dealer network and strong focus on customer service, VinFast aims to deliver high-quality vehicles at competitive prices—supporting Southeast Asia’s transition to clean mobility.
