Susanna Hasenoehrl is new SVP and first head of sustainability, APJ – SAP

Germany-based software firm SAP introduced Susanna Hasenoehrl as the newest senior vice president (SVP) and first-ever head of sustainability for the Asia Pacific Japan region.

In this new role, Hasenoehrl will help customers and partners – through SAP’s sustainability solutions – to achieve their strategic goals and regulatory requirements. She will also spur sustainability outcomes through SAP’s go-to-market efforts. Among her other responsibilities include being the voice of APJ customers and partners to create digital sustainability solutions and services to address the need that governments and businesses face.

Hasenoehrl is fit for the job given her experience in marrying sustainability outcomes and business performance. Previously, she consulted to businesses across Asia on sustainable business and climate change. She also held a senior position at agricultural solutions provider, Yara International. The new SVP is deemed a veteran in the digital industry, and was advisor to the leadership at agritech company Grobrix.

“Asia is at a turning point when it comes to sustainability,” Hasenoehrl said in a statement. “Climate change is already having a dramatic impact on Asian nations, exacerbating natural disasters and disrupting agricultural patterns. I’m thrilled to be joining SAP, because it has incredible potential to drive fundamental, systemic change when it comes to sustainability.”

“Businesses are beginning to understand the enormous responsibility they have to eliminate carbon emissions from their supply chains, operations, products, and services,” she continued. “It’s a great time to join SAP on this journey, supporting and co-innovating with our APJ customers as we improve environmental and social performance. I am excited about the road ahead and the joint opportunity to empower Asia’s sustainable future.”

SAP is making a global impact by providing sustainability-specific solutions for various purposes: corporate sustainability performance management and reporting, carbon accounting, waste management for circular economy processes, as well as responsible and inclusive supply chain management.

Thanks to its strong foothold in global business data and processes and its unparalleled global partner ecosystem, SAP is in a unique position to create a positive impact at scale.

SAP has 50 years under its belt in guiding companies to manage resources and 10 years of experience as a top sustainable enterprise.

SAP APJ president Paul Marriott said: “SAP is helping to build a zero emissions future, create the foundation for circular economy driving toward zero waste, and enable zero inequality through our growing portfolio of sustainability solutions.

“With Asia accounting for more than 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions, it’s critical we focus on helping customers, partners, and governments in the region urgently develop and implement strategies and solutions to address climate challenges. This new role reinforces our ongoing commitment to strengthen our sustainability offering for customers and partners across APJ.”
