Singlife Enhances Financial Advisory Services with Generative AI on Oracle Cloud

Singapore-based financial services firm Singlife has rolled out a new generative AI tool powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), as part of its commitment to leveraging technology for a more agile and efficient insurance experience.

The generative AI tool is designed to support Singlife’s financial advisors with instant access to product information—enabling quicker responses and personalised guidance for the over one million customers the company serves.

This move is a continuation of Singlife’s digital transformation journey, with the AI initiative stemming from the company’s 2023 internal hackathon, the #BetterIdea Challenge. The event invited employees to explore how generative AI could address real-world pain points in the financial services sector.

From improving customer service response times to facilitating faster knowledge sharing, the hackathon highlighted how generative AI could streamline workflows and empower advisors with real-time insights.

According to Singlife’s group head of technology and operations, Romil Sharma, the challenge nurtured a growth mindset among staff and proved instrumental in fostering creativity. He noted the crucial role that Oracle’s high-performance cloud infrastructure played in bringing these ideas to life.

By embedding OCI services into its technology stack, Singlife has been able to integrate generative AI into its advisory processes—helping advisors move away from manual information retrieval and towards automated, intelligent responses.

Oracle’s Chin Ying Loong added that the convergence of AI and cloud technology is ushering in transformative shifts across the financial services landscape, particularly in how firms innovate and operate.
