Singapore Cybersecurity Firms Lead Charge Against GenAI and Quantum Threats

As the cost of cybercrime surges toward a projected US$10.5 trillion by 2025—up from US$8 trillion in 2023—the global urgency to counter increasingly sophisticated cyber threats has never been greater. In response, Singapore is stepping up as a hub of cybersecurity innovation, driving forward solutions that address not just today’s challenges but those looming on the horizon.

At the forefront of this national push are three homegrown companies—cloudsineAI, Cyber Sierra, and pQCee—each tackling advanced threats that traditional, one-size-fits-all cybersecurity tools struggle to mitigate. From GenAI-fueled fraud to quantum decryption risks, these firms are creating hyper-specialised solutions aimed at closing critical protection gaps across industries.

Their efforts are backed by the CyberSG Talent, Innovation, and Growth Collaboration Center—a US$15 million initiative spearheaded by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). The centre supports pioneering technologies with global impact, fostering innovation in digital infrastructure defence.

“Singapore’s CyberSG Talent, Innovation and Growth Collaboration Center, in conjunction with our National Cybersecurity R&D Program, aims to drive key innovations in the global cybersecurity landscape. We support companies developing advanced digital infrastructure protection, strengthening our nation’s defenses while empowering collaborative global efforts against a rising tide of cyberattacks, marked by a 30 percent increase in 2024,” said Associate Professor Benjamin Tee, Vice President (Ecosystem Building), NUS Enterprise.

cloudsineAI: Defending GenAI with a Dedicated Firewall

cloudsineAI is responding to the surge in GenAI use with a specialised GenAI firewall. Unlike conventional defences that guard against basic network or web threats, cloudsineAI’s solution uses a proprietary ShieldPrompt™ architecture. It inspects both inputs and outputs from GenAI applications in real-time, identifying and blocking injected prompts or sensitive content leaks before they cause harm.

This firewall also integrates with other enterprise security systems, such as SIEMs, and enhances AI guardrails with a continually updated threat vector database—empowering organisations to innovate securely in an AI-driven world.

Cyber Sierra: AI-Augmented Compliance and Security

Cyber Sierra is reimagining enterprise protection with its AI-powered platform built on agentic infrastructure. Combining Cyber GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) with Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM), its architecture delivers intelligent automation, enabling human-machine teams to proactively detect threats, ensure compliance, and respond to risks faster than ever.

Recognition of their approach came in 2024, when Cyber Sierra was named a Sample Vendor in both Cyber GRC and CCM categories in the Gartner® Hype Cycle for Cyber Risk Management—the first Southeast Asian cybersecurity firm to receive this dual distinction.

pQCee: Securing the Quantum Future

pQCee’s SafeQuard tool is designed to protect encrypted data against the quantum computing threats of tomorrow. With quantum decryption capabilities inching closer to reality, the threat of ‘harvest now, decrypt later’ attacks is growing. SafeQuard applies lightweight, standards-compliant encryption to preserve the long-term confidentiality of sensitive documents—from personal records to critical business assets.

Built in alignment with the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), this solution ensures documents secured today remain protected well into the quantum era.

Global Debut at RSA Conference 2025

These companies will be among the first to represent Singapore at its inaugural national pavilion at the RSA Conference 2025, from 28 April to 1 May at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. Alongside three other firms supported by the CyberSG Center, they will spotlight Singapore’s cybersecurity capabilities to a global audience.

Organised by the Center and SGTech, the pavilion seeks to reinforce Singapore’s position as a cybersecurity innovation leader and strategic launchpad into Asia’s rapidly growing US$7.5 billion digital economy.
