24 January 2025, HONG KONG – For the second time in its history, Schneider Electric has been named the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation by Corporate Knights, becoming the only company to achieve the top position on the Global 100 index twice. This milestone reinforces Schneider Electric’s reputation as a global benchmark for sustainability in the corporate world.
The company first claimed the number one spot in 2021. Four years later, it has returned to the summit, recognised not only for its internal ESG achievements but also for enabling sustainable transformation across industries.
The 2025 ranking reflects Schneider Electric’s strong performance in critical sustainability indicators — from gender diversity in its leadership to pioneering innovations that drive energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonisation. The company has also been lauded for decoupling business growth from carbon emissions and for aligning executive incentives with ESG goals, highlighting its systemic approach to sustainable performance.
Compiled by Canadian research firm Corporate Knights, the Global 100 index assesses publicly traded companies with over US$1 billion in revenue. The evaluation is based on a rigorous analysis of transparency, sustainability metrics, and industry-specific performance indicators. Schneider Electric’s consistent presence in the index — 14 years and counting, with seven appearances in the top 10 — sets it apart in the electrical equipment manufacturing sector.
The timing of this recognition is significant, bookending Schneider Electric’s current five-year Sustainability Impact programme. The initiative, which began in 2021 and runs through the end of 2025, maps out ambitious environmental and social goals across global and local levels, providing a structured framework for long-term progress.
