SAP Labs India Partners with Ramaiah Institute of Technology to Boost Industry-Academia Collaboration

SAP Labs India has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) to commence their collaboration and further develop initiatives that have been implemented since February 2023. The collaboration aims to advance research, innovation, and economic benefits.

One of the programmes, Young Upstarts, is an SAP initiative providing students with the tools and support they need to establish their startups. SAP offers on-campus sessions to help students develop an entrepreneurial mindset, create a strong business pitch, and acquire essential business values. Selected students will also work with experienced professionals to develop technical skills.

As part of the student-partner program, SAP Labs India is collaborating with MSRIT to include two student partners (or campus ambassadors) in their developmental initiatives.

“Industry-academia partnerships are essential for advancing research and development, fostering innovation, and providing economic benefits. SAP Labs India’s partnership with MSRIT is yet another step to foster our commitment to deepen industry-academia collaboration and explore synergies around emerging and new technologies,” said Sindhu Gangadharan, SVP & MD, SAP Labs India, and Head, SAP User Enablement.

We are also excited about introducing MSRIT students to entrepreneurship with the Young Upstarts programme which aims at empowering young minds with the necessary technical and leadership skills to help shape their innovative ideas into successful ventures.”

An All-India Hackathon will be conducted at the MSRIT campus, inviting students across Indian universities. SAP’s business teams will provide problem statements for participants to develop tech-based solutions with mentor support. Other projects include the Academia Alumni Network (AAN) as part of the Research Engagement and Collaboration Hub, with MSRIT being one of the first institutions.

SAP Labs India will also collaborate with MSRIT in branding operations at jointly designated campus locations. The MoU signifies a strong commitment to the ongoing business-university relationship between the two institutions, fostering a future full of innovative ideas from both students and professionals.“The joint efforts of MSRIT and SAP Labs India will help students unleash their latent potential and enable them to learn, explore and grow under the guidance of industry experts. We are looking forward to a fruitful association and are excited for our students to be able to contribute to technological advancements for SAP’s customers globally,” added N. V. R. Naidu, Principal, Ramaiah Institute of Technology.
