Components detection solutions company, PiQuant Co. Ltd. bagged the Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023, conferred by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) of America.
Over 2,400 companies from 174 countries threw their hat in the ring at CES – the world’s largest international electronics fair – but PiQuant’s water quality analyser, “Water Scanner” prevailed.
The Water Scanner is the first portable spectrometer that performs real-time analysis of water components. It can spot toxic substances, such as bacteria, heavy metals and chemical compounds in liquid.
Test time is reduced to 1/440th of the conventional Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), which multiplies and confirms specific genes of microorganisms. The cost of testing is also cut down to 1/50th.
“Water Scanner” can monitor and manage data in real time while it is connected to a smartphone.
Meanwhile, the company’s AirQuant is in demand in homes, schools, institutions, and malls as an IoT air quality monitoring system that can quantify dust and harmful gases in real-time.
PiQuant, established in 2015, is focused on the development and manufacture of products built on component detection technology using light.
