Konoike Transport Strengthens Cybersecurity Posture with CyberArk in Cloud-First Overhaul

Konoike Transport has deployed CyberArk as a cornerstone of its digital transformation journey, reinforcing its cybersecurity strategy while embracing a cloud-first approach to drive operational efficiency and resilience.

Headquartered in Japan, Konoike Transport operates across logistics, transportation, and outsourcing services, supported by a workforce of approximately 24,000. The company had previously implemented a multi-layered security framework, but it continued to face challenges in managing privileged access across its expanding IT infrastructure.

Privileged credentials tied to applications, servers, and cloud services were being handled in silos, resulting in limited visibility and delayed incident response. This fragmentation posed significant risks, both internally and externally, especially when password management remained inconsistent across systems—heightening vulnerabilities during staff transitions.

To centralise and secure identity management, Konoike Transport turned to CyberArk Privileged Access Manager, a key solution within the CyberArk Identity Security Platform. The deployment offers the company a unified platform to discover, secure, and monitor all privileged identities.

With this enhanced visibility, the company can now identify user access within a few clicks, significantly improving response times and streamlining compliance reporting, including obligations under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

CyberArk’s cloud-enabled architecture also aligns seamlessly with Konoike Transport’s broader shift toward cloud-based operations, providing secure access to critical systems without compromising user convenience.

Masaya Sato, general manager of the Digital Transformation Promotion Department at Konoike Transport, said that end users now have secure access without sacrificing convenience and administrators can monitor multiple systems in an integrated manner, greatly reducing our attack surface.

“Threat actors seek out unsecured privileged accounts to enter an organization’s IT environment,” said Mitsuro Kakizawa, CyberArk regional director for Japan.

“CyberArk enables the highest levels of control, management and security for Konoike Transport’s privileged identities, adding a critical protection layer to the company’s key assets and supporting its digital transformation journey,” said Kakizawa.
