Digital solutions platform Globe has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to climate action and sustainable business practices by maintaining a B score in the 2022 CDP assessment.
This score reflects the company’s ability to provide evidence of its environmental management processes, and its success in reducing its impact on the environment.
“We are committed to driving energy efficiency in our operations and reducing our carbon footprint through various programs and initiatives. The implementation of intelligent monitoring systems is an important part of this effort, and we are pleased to see the positive impact that they bring to our business and the planet,” said Gerard Ortines, Head of Network Solutions and CAPEX Management at Globe.
As ESG ratings have become a standard assessment tool for investors, Globe’s good ESG ratings prove that the company is effectively managing ESG-linked risks, improving investor confidence and overall brand value for customers.
Intelligent monitoring systems are a crucial part of Globe’s climate action strategy. By optimizing network capabilities and increasing energy efficiency, Globe reduces energy requirements and consequently lowers carbon emissions from electricity consumption.
Aligned with its ISO 50001-certified Energy Management System and energy efficiency programs, Globe has deployed advanced technologies such as the Remote Monitoring System (RMS) for its cell sites and a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in its core facilities.
The RMS allows for remote monitoring and control of on-site equipment and energy usage on a 24/7 basis, driving operational energy efficiency and reducing emissions from vehicle fuel consumption.
Meanwhile, the CMMS is a digital hub converging the company’s core network operations and processes into one central platform, providing better operational performance and service insights.
Globe also implements Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) to automate energy consumption monitoring and improve data center design, providing real-time monitoring of temperature, humidity, AC and DC power readings.
As a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, Globe has made global commitments to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050. Globe continues to explore innovative technologies and solutions to support its climate action goals.
