AIA Pledges Healthier Future for Singaporeans through Better Lives Fund Initiative

AIA Singapore continues its commitment to Singaporeans with its recently-launched AIA Better Lives Fund, an initiative aimed at raising funds in support of disadvantaged children, youth, and their families. The funds will go toward creating greater access and opportunities for education, growth and development.

Administered by Community Chest, the fundraising and engagement arm of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), the Fund aims to raise its first S$1 million within its first year. The Fund will support AIA Singapore’s longstanding adopted charity partners – Children’s Wishing Well and VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer, and may include other charities over time – aiming to reach out to even more children and families in need.

AIA Singapore earlier pledged to make positive contributions not only to the health of Singaporeans and the wider community, but also the environment. In April 2020, the company launched its green pledge of S$5 million to the National Parks Board’s (NParks’) registered charity, Garden City Fund, to plant trees in Singapore’s parks and nature reserves over the next five years – the largest contribution by an organisation to NParks’ OneMillionTrees movement. Other investments have also been made in other priority sectors including the environmental, social, and governance sectors.

According to Wong Sze Keed, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Singapore, “Our brand purpose of enabling people to live healthier, longer, better lives guides everything we do to shape a sustainable future for the communities we serve, so we can create long term value for all stakeholders. We are passionate about helping those less fortunate in our community to improve their quality of life. We remain steadfast in our commitment to build an inclusive Singapore for generations to come, continuously supporting causes and initiatives that enrich lives and fulfil dreams for everyone.”
