Four of Singapore’s top organisations – Global Fintech Institute, blockchain NULS, fine art company iPreciation and NFT hub, NFTCircle – have teamed up to help raise funds for the Singapore University of Social Sciences’ (SUSS) Node for Inclusive Fintech (NiFT).
The SUSS Node for Inclusive Fintech (NiFT) is meant to lead all fintech initiatives at the university. Dubbed a “Centre for Excellence”, it is a multi-disciplinary hub supplemented with expertise from the faculty members across SUSS’ five schools, and their collective publications and programmes. The NiFT endeavors to provide high-quality research, public education and policy advocacy for inclusivity in the financial technology sector.
Of its four supporters, the Global FinTech Institute is a professional credentialing body that works towards the following: engaging the community in fintech’s latest trends and developments; overseeing collaborations among regional and international fintech groups; upholding best practices, standards and governance guidelines for the fair use of fintech; and providing education and training to further grow industry capabilities and nurture talents in fintech.
Meanwhile, the blockchain NULS is a public, global, open-source community project, which uses microservice functionality to achieve a highly modularised architecture.
The fine art company iPreciation features select modern and contemporary Asian art, dedicated to launch platforms and showcase up-and-coming artists by staging large-scale exhibitions.
Finally, NFTCircle provides an entirely new generation of NFT through augmented reality and visual art under ARTMYN. To protect art pieces, NFTCircle uses Tradetrust and veriSECURE. Under Tradetrust, NFTCircle can help an artist go after all legal loss stemming from unauthorised usage. Meanwhile, veriSECURE stores the art piece physically in a third-party-secured and insured location.
The four will come together to raise funds for SUSS-NiFT through a non-fungible token initiative. Proceeds will go to inclusive efforts for the underserved, unbanked, and financially disadvantaged in Singapore.
iPreciation will liaise with the gallery’s established artists for the event. The auction will be held at the NFTCircle and Opensea, the world’s biggest NFT marketplace. OxPay will be the event’s exclusive payment portal (non-crypto), while NULS will handle the global crypto marketing. Crypto payments will be handled within NFTCircle.
The fundraiser aims to raise SGD$50,000 annually to help NiFT provide financial assistance to disadvantaged Singaporean students through awards and grants. Up for auction are items ranging from digital art, music, digitally-autographed e-books, augmented reality experiences and physical art pieces in the form of NFTs.
